Wahoo FSK (Fast Sea Kayak) built during the Winter of 2013/2014 for Wil in Florida. It has a core of western red and northern white cedar with an ultra-light competition fiberglass layup. The hull exterior is finished with white polyurethane and clear coat with a bright deck exterior and interior. Outfitted with Nelo Kayaks footbrace and tiller, Composite Engineering – Van Dusen Racing Boats rudder, and carbon fiber seat that is integral with the aft bulkhead. Carbon tube deck hardware with limited bungees and hatches held with internal bungees. Built exclusively with Entropy Resin Super Sap CLR bio-based epoxy.
The Wahoo (aka LComp) was designed by John Winters, a world renown canoe and kayak designer as a open water competition sea kayak targeted for smaller paddlers. It is 18′ long x 20″ wide. The design is owned by Lisa Huntington and Jim Budi.
